Daiso (Australia) Pty Ltd
When the first store was opened in Richmond, the owners of Daiso (Australia) Pty Ltd had already selected a Queensland based POS company that was a reseller of POSWise software. The reseller engaged POSWise to handle the support of the system as it was local to the POSWise office in Melbourne.

On the opening day the shop was so busy that just to get into the store the customers had to queue for about 40 minutes. Once at the counter the scanners and hardware that had been installed where not able to scan fast enough to get the customers through the checkout quick enough so scanning was abandoned and instead one product was set up for $2.80. This meant they had no way of knowing what was sold which meant stock control was not possible.

By the time they opened there second store in Doncaster the owners
had meet with the POSWise team on a regular basis to make sure that the setup for future stores could cope with customers volumes over an eleven hour period that would average 2300 items per hour.

When the store opened in Doncaster the only items that where not
scanned where those that where not in the system. The system was also able to import the order sent from Daiso in Japan. This in- cluded the Japanese description and converting of the cost price from YEN to Dollars taking into account the exchange rate on the day of the actual purchase.

Now that two stores had been opened and more where on the way, a
warehouse was opened to receive the orders coming in from Japan. This meant that the stores needed to be in communication with the warehouse on a real time basis for reordering.

To achieve this POSWise recommend the DANES EDI system that
was fully integrated into POSWise. EDI gives Dasio two options for ordering. They can order centrally or from each store.
EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange.

It's a generic term that refers to the systems and processes that retailers have in place for sending orders and receiving stock.

POSWise continues to work with Daiso as they expand.
