Flinders General Store
When a new partner bought into the busy Flinders General Store on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, he wanted more visibility to the business through a system he could access from a remote location. The business also had a need to streamline their supply chain with major supplier, Metcash and AUR Food stores. When it came time to review their Point of Sale and Business Management Systems, Flinders General Store chose POSWise, the Affordable Point of Sale System.

As well as the major challenge of integrating POSWise to the Metcash ordering system, so the business could automati- cally load orders using their handheld stock data capture devices, Flinders also wanted to minimize downtime by ex- tracting products from their legacy system, converting them and loading directly into their new POSWise system. With the expert help of POSWise staff, this was achieved seamlessly. 

Flinders now uses POSWise, running on 4 x HP AP5000 touch- screen terminals with Magellan 3200 scanners and weighing scales linked to the software. 

Whilst implementing the system, Flinders was still operating its retail business—full speed ahead. The implementation team was able to work effectively with the store owners to minimize disruption to the ongoing business. 

Flinders now have a successfully operating POS system, beau- tifully integrating to Metcash/AUR Food stores inventory sys- tem, and providing invaluable performance monitoring capa- bilities to its owners via remote internet access.
